Below are some of the dog diseases. Each has an appropriate vaccine that should be given to your puppy on your vets routine visits to try and avoid any illness. Vaccines are a preventitive but not a guarantee against dog diseases. There are many strains and some are not covered but do not take a chance!  Vaccinate your puppy

Parvovirus-A viral infection that is common and can be deadly. Usually strikes young puppies.

Symptoms: Severe Diarrhea, fever, vomiting, loss of appetite & dehydration.

Canine Distemper- A viral disease that is highly contagious. It affects a dog's respiratory, gastrointestinal & nervous system.  It can be spread through the air or by contact with an infected animal, its feces or urine and can be fatal. For less chance of exposure , keep the dog at home away from other dogs until his complete set of vaccines is completed.

Symptoms: Coughing, sneezing, nose and eye discharge, fever, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea &                                               seizures.

Canine Hepatitis: A viral disease also known as Adenovirus, is spread by contact with infected animals, their feces, urine or saliva. It affects the liver, kidneys and cells lining the blood vessels.

Symptoms:High fever, thirst, inflammation of nose or mouth, diarrhea, abdominal pain & tenderness,  loss

                                         of appetite, hemorrhage and depression.

Leptospirosis: A bacterial infection that is extremely contagious. It spreads through contact with nasal secretions, urine or saliva of infected animals. Early signs are not apparent, so infection can go undetected. Recovered animals can continue to spread the disease, which can also affect humans.

Symptoms: Fever, Vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite and listlessness.
